I do remember stopping playing this, due to the really long cutscenes that we're mandatory to watch even when you already had done the mission but failed.

Skipping cutscenes offers better option to fail and try again and again and again, untill something has been learned to beat the mission ;-. Well if this does happen, and I hope it does. There is a big modding community out there willing to provide the tools to help the game along. A remake would be great, and then please add a 'skip cutscene' option to it.
